Reserve Specialist (RS™)

Are you seeking to expand your clientele and enhance your career? Community associations rely on qualified reserve specialists to assist them in extensive reserve planning to keep their communities running smoothly. Gain the confidence of board members by obtaining the Reserve Specialist (RS™) designation.

The RS designation is awarded to qualified reserve specialists who, through years of specialized experience, can help ensure that community associations prepare their reserve budget as accurately as possible.

    • At least three years (36 months) of experience preparing reserve studies.
    • Prepare at least 30 reserve studies for community associations based on visual on-site observations over the last three years (36 months), with a minimum of 20 being Level I
      or Level II.
    • Hold a bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering (or equivalent experience and education), or meet other requirements options.
    • Comply with strict rules of conduct outlined by the Professional Reserve Specialist Code of Ethics.
    • Submit all parts of the application and pay required fee:
      • $320 for business partner members.
      • $590 for nonmembers.
     
    • Pay the annual maintenance fee by Aug. 1 each year.
      • Member: $130 (business partner membership)
      • Nonmember: $365
    • Redesignate every three years by Aug. 1 of your redesignation year by submitting the redesignation form and required client listing.
