No laws mandating or regulating HOA board member education.

During the 2013-2014 legislative session, the North Carolina General Assembly considered House Bill 883, which would have required newly elected board members to a community association's board of directors to complete a minimum of four hours of education on the laws related to community associations within sixty days after election. Under this bill, the community association would have had to pay a fee of $75 to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission for each member taking the course.  (Passed first reading, Died in Committee)
