After many years of dedicated service, Tom Skiba, CAE, CAI’s Chief Executive Officer, has announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2025. Tom’s visionary leadership and commitment have been instrumental in shaping CAI into the organization it is today.
Under Tom’s guidance, CAI experienced remarkable growth in membership, expanded our global reach, and strengthened our role as the leading authority in community association governance and management. His contributions have left a legacy that will benefit the industry for years to come.

CAI Board of Trustees CEO Search Taskforce Update
The selection of a CEO is one of the most critical roles the Board of Trustees plays in CAI’s governance. As such, the board feels it is paramount to do due diligence to ensure the organization’s health and wellness going forward.
A task force to oversee the CEO selection process has been selected. The seven-member team reports to the Board of Trustees and is being led by CAI Past President Greg Smith, CMCA, AMS, PCAM.
The CEO Search Task Force is made up of current and former members of the board. It includes:

CAI has also retained a global executive search firm based in Washington, D.C., with extensive experience in the nonprofit arena to direct the search. They will lead efforts and establish a position profile to share with interested candidates.
