The Foundation for Community Association Research is proud to announce Michael Traidman as the 2022 Homeowner Leader of the Year. For the past 12 years, Traidman has served as a volunteer on the Mira Vista Homeowners Association board in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He received the award in May during Community Associations Institute's 2022 Annual Conference and Exposition: Community NOW.
Created in 2021, the annual Homeowner Leader of the Year award is made possible by a generous contribution from Linc Cummings and his wife Martha Klein to the Foundation. The prestigious honor recognizes a volunteer who exemplifies the highest level of ethical conduct and community governance, provides exemplary service for a minimum of five years (without compensation), and makes a positive impact on the community association housing model at large.
Traidman is featured in the Sept./Oct. issue of Common Ground™, CAI's flagship magazine. He was nominated by his peers on the Mira Vista Homeowners Association board for his tremendous volunteer work and guidance over the past decade and for his commitment to making the community a great place to live. According to his neighbors, “Mike is the 'go-to person' regardless of the various positions he has held on the board. Mike is always mentoring, teaching, and sharing his knowledge with new board members and the community," reads the nomination.
Traidman has served as director-at-large, treasurer, and president of Mira Vista, and he has volunteered on several committees including golf, security, and financial. During his leadership, the community increased its reserve fund to its highest level and rarely increased assessments. Traidman is an active proponent of board member education, regularly working with Coachella Valley communities to teach residents elected to serve on their community association board.
